MONICA USHER

Monica.jpeg

Monica’s work explores themes of nature and embraces a whimsical narrative in which she conveys a sense of wonder about the world around her, using these themes as observations of the human condition. Monica’s attention to the details of everyday experiences forms the foundation of her practice and invite the viewer to join her on a visual expedition into realms where every living thing is sacred and anything is possible. She is currently working on a new body of paintings where she is busy exploring the often forgotten corners of an overgrown garden. Places where life thrives in the shadows and the sunlight barely manages to penetrate the rich surfaces of the canvas.

Monica has been a practicing artist for the past thirty years. Although her practice has been primarily a private pursuit over that time she has exhibited both her ceramic and painted works in numerous group shows and a number of solo exhibitions which have been critically acknowledged and well-received by both collectors and the public audience at large.
