David Usher

AVAILABLE WORKS

David’s practice is a personal metaphor for his life experiences, memories and encounters all translating into paintings of the Australian landscape. David observes, and reimagines landscapes exploring the importance of key sites that exist through memory, his family and journeys. David says, ‘the Australian landscape is significant as an environment where I have found solitude and a sense of belonging. It is the space from which I have subsequently drawn inspiration for self-expression through mark-making and painting’.

David Usher is a Toowoomba based artist lecturing in Ceramics at the University of Southern Queensland. David has shown with several galleries including Doggett Street Studio, Michael Burke Gallery, Amfora Gallery, and ALG. He has work in collections including QaGoMA, QUT, Griffith, UniSQ, Artbank, and MoB.
